Just Buggin' Challenge #25: Black and White

What's the challenge for this week?

Challenge #25: Black and White: Use black and white only on your Cricut project. If necessary, you may use ONE additional color.

I made a sympathy card for a friend that just lost her grandpa. I used Stretch Your Imagination, as well as the Don Juan cartridge.

Elijah's Scrapbook

So I had the brilliant idea to make Elijah a scrapbook for his birthday present. His part was this past Sunday, so when did I start making it? Saturday at 4:00 of course! I did a lot of crafting on Saturday, but was able to get it done on time!

On the cover I wrote a poem about turning 1.

Some other spreads from the book! :)

The end of the book contained sheets the people could sign, and I kept a sheet for his big sister to draw him a picture.

A little signature on the back cover. :)

1st Birthday Thank You Cards

I created this thank you card to match the invitations I made for my nephew's first birthday party. I learned a valuable lesson with this one. Don't design a card with 5 buttons on it, especially when you're making 16 cards. It's hard to find that many buttons @ one store! :)

Baby Shower Thank Yous

Showers. I enjoy them. I like baby showers and bridal showers. I like parties that have themes. Maybe that's why I like showers so much. :)

A friend asked me to design some thank you cards for a baby shower. Perfect! She sent me a picture of a quilt that the parents-to-be have registered for, which is what the designed is based off of. 30 cards of each design.

Thanks for thinking of me Katie! :)

Valentine's Day cards for my hubby and my friends.

I made the following two cards for Valentine's Day. One is for my husband, and the other for a friend. They went together really easily. I hadn't ever done a square card before, but I really liked the size and how easily it was to lay out.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Just Buggin' Challenge #24: 3D

Okay. This if my first time responding to a challenge on Just Buggin' AND my first time making a 3D project. It's not the best project I've ever done, but I think it's kind of fun. I used the tags, bags and more cartridge to create the heart bag. I also used the doodlecharm cartridge for the red hearts and the Don Juan cartridge for the letters. The white hearts fit in the bag and act as "clue cards".

I'm surprising my husband with a date tonight to see some old friends that we haven't seen in a while. I'm going to let him pick out clues from the bag on the way there. We'll see if he can figure it out on the way.

I'm excited to submit my first project to the challenge. Thanks for looking!

2010 Winter Olympics: Go Team USA!

Well the 2010 Winter Olympics officially kick off this evening with the opening ceremonies. We'll be hosting an olympic party at our house this evening to watch the opening ceremony with friends. One of the couples coming has a 2 month old baby. Naturally he needed a special outfit to wear for his first olympics, so I made him this onesie. Go team USA!

I used my Cricut to cut out the circles, and learned some very valuable lessons about using the it to cut fabric. Luckily I found a great video on YouTube that gave me some awesome pointers. I ironed all of the shapes and then hand stitched them on.

Update 2/13/2010: Kudos to Alie and her super creative dessert that she brought over for everyone. I had a table of foods from all different countries. Mini tacos for Mexico, perogies for Poland, a pizza dip for Italy, baguettes for France, and a Canada Day flag cake for Canada. Alie's Olympic-ring-inspired fruit pizza was the perfect addition! And her son looked way too cute in his olympic onesie!

Card set of 10

I was asked to create a set of 10 cards for the Women's Center at Grand Valley State University. They will be using them as an item to be auctioned off in a fundraiser they will be doing this month. I finally finished them up. I hope that people bid on them! :)

Snowman Chow Treat Boxes

I made some puppy chow for our friends that we were meeting up in Boyne. I had some leftover takeout boxes from Christmas that I used, as they all had a snowman theme. I made little tags for the "snowman chow" and attached one to each box. They were a big hit!

Boyne Ski Weekend Frame

My husband and I went on a little ski getaway this past weekend. As a surprise to him, I made him this layout, which I put in a shadow box frame. I gave it to him when we got to the hotel. I can't wait to put a picture from our ski trip in it.

1 month old!

I'm excited to say that my blog is one month old! I've had so much fun posting crafty projects and coming up with new ideas. I have a few new jobs that I'll be posting about soon. I'm making a set of thank you cards for a baby shower, and also a set of cards that will be auctioned off at a fundraiser for the Women's Center at Grand Valley State University.

Thank you cards that coordinate with the 1st birthday invitation are also on the horizon. And add to that list a birthday invitation for Chloe's 4th birthday. There's a lot of crafting going on in my basement, and I love it!

Thank you very much for taking the time to check out my blog and look around. If you have any card or invitation needs, feel free to ask me. :)
